Collection

Food scraps is collected at a local organic store or donated by individuals avid to reduce their environmental impact while living in apartment. We place plastic buckets in the store that are collected everyday. Cardboard boxes are also picked up at the store selecting food-grade packaging to break down (using the rain!) and use as carbon source for the compost. Newspapers is a good carbon source also easy to find locally.

1/3 food scraps (Nitrogen) + 2/3 cardboard box or paper
